Choosing a mower for several lawns

This page assumes three separate lawns with 1,000 m² of grass between them. A model fails when its maker says it handles one area only. A model whose maker does not say goes to needs a check. A model that handles several areas but states a lower number than yours carries a warning, and one that gives no number carries a note.

Add the lawns together for the area. The margin for shape applies to the total, and several small lawns usually suit the typical or complex shape better than open. Then check how the mower moves between them: across a path, through a gate, or carried by hand. The narrowest gap on the way is the passage to compare with each model page.

A lawn the mower cannot reach on its own, such as a front lawn across the drive, can still count when you plan to carry the mower there. Check in the maker's manual how its app handles a separate map for that lawn.

Which area goes in the sizer for several lawns?

The total area of grass across all of them, with the shape that describes the whole set.

Why are some models in needs a check?

Their makers do not say whether they handle more than one area. The sizer never passes or fails a model on a value it does not have.
