Sizing for a 2,000 m² lawn

A 2,000 m² lawn is 21,528 sq ft, about half an acre. For this lawn that means 2,400 m² (25,833 sq ft) on one open shape, 2,700 m² (29,063 sq ft) with some beds and trees, and 3,000 m² (32,292 sq ft) for a complex layout. A mower allowed to run in daytime only needs 1.5 times as much again: 4,050 m² (43,594 sq ft) for a typical shape.

Limits of 2,400 and 2,500 m² cover this lawn but not the margin for a typical shape. A model fits from a limit of 2,700 m², and the sizer puts the smallest limit that still fits first.

Two lawns of 1,000 m² are not the same job as one lawn of 2,000 m². Enter the number of separate lawns in the sizer: a model whose maker says it handles one area only does not fit, and one whose maker does not say goes to needs a check. The several lawns page shows that case.
